Carolyn has worked as an assistant to four different advisors at Waddell & Reed since 1989. She worked for Karen Cullinane Kibler for 19 years. Karen took Carolyn with her to Waddell & Reed conferences held in Tucson, San Francisco and Seattle. Following the retirement of Karen and the resignation of her previous advisor she was asked to assist in the current La Junta office which was opened in November 2015. Carolyn now assists Kirby Shineman and Daniel Jarka. Carolyn is serious about providing good customer service. She feels her customers are not numbers but faces of friends and neighbors. Carolyn attended La Junta High School and Otero Junior College. She has worked for H & R Block as a tax preparer until 2001. She ran her own tax preparation business through the 2016 filing season. She is the office manager for the North La Junta Sanitation District. She manufactured concrete lawn ornaments for her business Ornamental Concrete Palace from 1984 until the flood of 1999. Carolyn served on the La Junta Public Schools Board of Education for 2 terms. Following the flood of 1999, she served on the committee to plan and design the North La Junta Community Center which replaced the Old North School Lunch Room. She also served briefly on the Concerned Citizens of North La Junta committee. Carolyn has been married to Wayne for 46 years. They have 3 daughters, 7 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Carolyn was raised and still lives in Southern Colorado. Carolyn attends the 10th & Cimarron Church of Christ in La Junta Colorado. She has taught bible classes since 1980. She enjoys everything involving family, fishing, gardening, remodeling and watching M*A*S*H reruns.
